Hindu bombers, Muslim bombers, Maharashtrians beating Biharis. Indians destroying each other - is this what the 21st century is going to be about?
Our happiness, our sense of security, our freedom to live the way we want - all these are under threat. Our political leaders have no qualms about propogating hatred and destroying our country. It's time for Indians to see through their designs.
Start by looking around you and seeing 'Indians' - not Hindus, Muslims, North Indians or Christians. Protect every Indian's right to life and livelihood.

Violence is not a solution to anything. Instigating violence can never be justified because its always the helpless that get harmed. Violence is counter productive and makes a society regress to the dark ages. That’s the path our politicians have put us on right now.
ReplyDeleteIt's fine to feel outraged at the helpless position terrorists place us in. We find it hard to defend ourselves from this faceless, cowardly enemy. However, we have to find constitutional means to express our displeasure.
Thackery’s actions have added fuel to a growing sense of insecurity in India. We seem poised for civil war. That is not a good sign for a nation that is attempting to become a global superpower. Please choose Indians. If you support right wing Hindutva organisations then you are anti development. Don’t you see that most of the tension in our society today is because of the way leaders of Hindutva organisations exploit the differences between our communities? Show some wisdom. See the future. Think for yourself. Don’t listen to what politicians tell you. Think independently. Most importantly, be fair. If you feel outraged about something that has been done to your community, try to understand the pain they feel when you (as the majority) ignore them, trample them, accuse them, label them, deny them justice, wrongfully detain them and kill them EVERY SINGLE DAY. You are to blame if they become terrorists because they didn’t get educated or because their family was killed in front of their eyes by a mob from your community. You are to blame for the civil war that will take place in the future if you feel that actions of people like the Sadhvi are to be glorified. You are to blame for all the money the government will have to spend to control that civil war. Finally, you are to blame for all the development we miss out on because of our poverty. Do you want India to become another Sudan? Please think a little. Don’t just feel. Having a reaction to something is great but you can’t make decisions based on those feelings. So vote sensibly this time people. Anti- incumbency should not lead to a victory for Hindutva forces. You know as well as I do that our current government is not responsible for the inflation and the terrorism. They have done the best they can.
I want peace. My identity is important, but not at the cost of someone else's life.
